Maybe this entry will suck less. One of the mailing lists I'm on for the Golden Dawn had a question raised by a concerned memeber about the amount of apparent christian mythology tied into it. I decided to reply - here's what I wrote:

======================================

I've stayed out of this because my opinions usually go over like bacon sandwiches at a bah-mitvah, however I would like to add something to this that may help.

So. Golden Dawn. Isis-Urania. Rosicrucians. Knights Templar. Going back through time you will find that the roots of the Golden Dawn are indeed tied to events and key players in christian mythology, but perhaps not in the way you expect.

Understand first of all that Christianity - Catholicism, Lutherism, Protestantism are tied to the results of the religion advocated by Emperor Constantine and put together at the Nicean Conference in the 4th century. Christianity has very little to do with Jesus, John the Baptist, his mother Mary or Mary Magdelene. Some people throughout history have known this. As a result of the creation of the New Testament, every other gospel was declared heretical, and many were destroyed - others were buried, like the Nag Hammadi scrolls.

Many historians and scholars over the past two centuries have taken the time to research this stuff, I cannot do their work justice in one email, but I would ask you to do some research of your own to confirm the veracity of what I'm about to tell you.

1) Mary, mother of Jesus was not a virgin. No one ever claimed she was until the church got ahold of her. In latin she was 'virgo' - young woman - not virgo intacta.

2) Jesus didn't die on the cross. In fact he barely hung up there for more than a couple of hours. His death was symbolic as was his retiring to the tomb for three days before resurrecting - just like Osiris.

3) Mary Magadalene was not a whore (at least not during the period of Jesus's time). She was his wife. And they bore children.

4) Jesus did not come from Nazareth. It didn't exist at the time. Nazarene meant learned man.

5) John the Baptist was Isian (not in the sense of today's wiccan Isians), but a follower of Isis and Osiris. The baptism ritual was egyptian in origin.

6) Jesus and Mary Magdalene were also followers of Isis.

7) Mary was at least seen as Jesus' equal, if not his superior in their group.

8) Mary Magdalene moved to France with her children. With Joseph Aramathea (James, Jesus's brother) she travelled to Glastonbury around 50 AD and created the first chapel.

9) She and her bloodline were royal through King David, and they were protected during the persecution which followed by the Church. The church had no interest in truth. They wanted control. They destroyed anything that they deemed heretical, and they deem anything heretical that reduced their control.

10) The Knights Templar, with their Messianic philosophy strove to find evidence of what the church had done and to protect and restore the royal blood line - the Sang Real.

The Golden Dawn has nothing to do with Christianity. But it has everything to do with Isis, Osiris, Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

Oh, by the way December 25th is the day of Osiris.

This summary is the result of other peoples research, and as I said, I cannot hope to do it justice here. But some books you should read:

  • The Templar Revelation
  • Holy Blood, Holy Grail
  • The Woman with the Alabastar Jar
  • The Nag Hammadi
  • The Messianic Legacy.

And if you like your history a little more exciting and easier to swallow, 'The Da Vinci Code' is a work of fiction with good referential material that has chase scenes and everything :>

Hope this helps. How'd you like your bacon?

Should be interesting to see what replies I get. My emails don't usually go over too well...
