boxx9000 mentioned that she has cooking issues. So For Boxx, and all you other culinary challenged readers out there, here is a basic yum-yum recipe that gets cooked regularly at the House of the Pink Gecko:

Spaghetti Bolognese a la Catpewk

You will need:

  • 1lb Lean Ground Beef
  • Spaghetti
  • One 16oz Jar of Ragu (Any Flavor - Basil and Tomato is nice).
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt

Preparation - do these IN ORDER:

    1) Place a Frying Pan on the stove on a medium high heat.
2)Fill a pan with water, about 2/3rds of the way. Place it on a medium high heat
3)Pour about two tablespoons of olive oil into the Frying pan and whirl it around.
4)Place one tablespoon of olive oil in the saucepan and a pinch or two of salt
5)Place the Spaghetti in the saucepan. Enough for two people. Always underestimate slightly.
6)Place the meat in the frying pan and start breaking it up with a wooden spooon.
7)Continue to break up meat, stirring it, turn it until it is nicely brown with no trace of pink
    8) Give the spaghetti a quick stir
9)Pour the Ragu over the meat. Stir it in completely.
    10) Reduce heat to Medium/Low
    11) Stir the Spaghetti again, reduce heat to medium
    12) Set the Microwave Timer for 10 minutes.
    13) Go have a cigarette, beer, whizz, wank, whatever.
    14) Beep, beep, beep
    15) Turn of all burners, stir the meat, stir the spaghetti
    16) Drain the spaghetti. The trick is to get all the water out, but not pour the spaghetti down the waste disposal.
    17) Divide the spaghetti into equal portions on 2 or 3 plates.
    18) Pour the meat and sauce onto the spaghetti.
    19) Eat. Enjoy. Thank Catpewk.

In other news, We did our taxes today. $370 owing. Don't believe a goddam thing anyone tell syou when you buy a house. You do NOT get your closing costs back at tax time. Grrrrrr....

I also suspect I'm going to owe another $1500 for some dipshit pension thing I forgot to file last year.

    J. went out on his first date tonight, with a nice looking girl called Elisha. Her parents took them to see 'Along came Polly' which was apparently really funny. (I doubt that, somehow).

    R. and her buddies have just completed some ritual with mirrors and candles. Dunno what it was but they seemed to have fun.

And my Complete System of the Golden Dawn book (about 2000 pages) was delivered today. The thing is HUGE.

    Enjoy your weekend :)
