Why am I so Fonging tired today? I slept good last night, got maybe 6 hours solid sleep in. The night before I got three hours, and felt fine most of the day and put up Christmas Decorations last night in the pouring rain. Yes I know I'm crazy. But I did wait until the Thunder and Lightning had passed. I didn't think it was particularly smart to be piddling with live electrical wires halfway up a metal ladder in a lightning storm. Benjamin Franklin I am not.
So when it got down to just plain raining, I finished up and only got shocked a little bit.
Back to the sleep thing. Sleep is extremely important. Lack of sleep is the reason so many people are fat. Lack of sleep is the reason so many people are gay.

Didn't know that? 'Strue, I Swear!
Let's start with the fat thing. This was released today:

Sleep Loss May Rev Up Appetite
December 6, 2004 02:20:39 PM PST , Reuters

Consistently getting a good night's sleep may be one of the answers to maintaining a healthy weight, if early research findings are correct.
The small study found that when healthy young men slept for only fours hours on two nights in a row, they showed dips in a hormone that suppresses appetite, coupled with increases in an appetite-stimulating hormone.

On top of that, the volunteers reported being more hungry after their sleep-deprived nights than after nights when they slept for 10 hours.

Though more research is needed, the new findings suggest that "if you do not run a sleep debt, you will be able to curb your appetite more easily and maintain or lose weight," study leader Dr. Eve Van Cauter, a professor of medicine at the University of Chicago, told Reuters Health.

Van Cauter and her colleagues report the findings in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

here at least for now. If you get to this page in a couple of months it may no longer be available, so google it.

So that's Number 1. Lack of Sleep makes you fat. And what do fat people frequently do instead of exercise? Take Slimming Pills!

This is a news story that came out yesterday:

Pregnant women who take slimming pills 'are more likely to have gay children'
By Robert Matthews, Science Correspondent (Filed: 05/12/2004)

Women who take slimming and thyroid pills during pregnancy are substantially more likely to have homosexual children, according to research.

A study of thousands of mothers and their adult children has revealed that Thyroxine used to treat thyroid deficiency and amphetamine-based diet pills appear to influence sexual orientation. Both were identified as being strongly linked to a higher rate of homosexuality among female offspring.

The mothers of homosexuals were found to be up to eight times more likely to have taken such drugs, with the effect being strongest with daughters whose mothers took the drugs during the first three months of pregnancy. The discovery, to be published by researchers in America, backs claims that human sexuality is determined by genetic and biochemical factors at work during early pregnancy.

The rest of the story can be read
here. Same rules apply.

So that's the deal. I stand by my earlier statement. Lack of sleep makes people fat. Fat people take slimming pills, that make them have gay children.
Lack of sleep makes people gay.

I should note at this point, I have no desire to hurt anyone's feelings with these statements. I have a few extra pounds, although I have never used slimming pills. I certainly have nothing against people that enjoy The Love that Dare not Speak its Name (although it seems quite capable of shouting it in a pink leotard, while dancing to "It's Rainin' Men").

Happy Tuesday
