Ten years of school does not make you a Doctor.Ten years of school does not make you a Doctor.

Yesterday was the first group birthday thing of the year. Most of us have birthdays in January through April, so yesterday we celebrated the Jan/Feb ones, and later in this same month we'll do the March/April ones.
We had food (too much, probably), then watched Alien 4 Resurrection because R's brother hadn't seen it.
This morning I went down to J's school because progress reports have been out two weeks and we only got one from him after a week of pleading, cajoling and bribing.
He is failing 3 out of 4 classes. Oh Joy.
At this rate he won't make Junior this year, which means that he will be graduating at 20 years old (he is already one year behind).
What pisses me off about all this is that we could fix this stuff if we knew about it early enough, but we don't get told, because the teachers give J the progress reports, and the notes of concern etc., and so they end up in the trash or burned or buried in an unmarked grave at midnight before we ever see them.
Grrrr.
My regular readers, what few of you there are left, will have noticed a distinctive drop off in the quality and quantity of my diary lately.
I apologize for that, but in the heart of the vastness and magnificence of the Universe, there is a reason.
One I cannot talk about for a few more days.
So bear with me...
