Now, something else that has just come onto my radar.

Hydrogen Fuel Cells are A Good Thing, I believe in the long run. They will relieve us of our reliance on fossil fuels.

But I think I see a problem in the short term, particularly around 2015-2030.

As Fuel Cells ramp up and Gasoline ramps down, there will come a point where about half the cars on the road are producing Carbon Monoxide and half are producing water vapor.

Thats CO and H2O. Some of these molecules will bond to form H2CO2 - Carbonic Acid, which is what you get in soft drinks.

Others will bond to form Oxygen and Formaldehyde (CH2O).

Oxygen is a good thing. Carbonic acid is probably okay but somewhat questionable. Formaldehyde is dead-on balls bad. Very very bad.

I wonder if anyone has considered this?
