Contininuing my slow, but ongoing look at Numbers, here is number three:

Number 3 has a great deal of importance in spirituality, and has had throughout history.

In the Qabbalah, Three represents Understanding, the Sephira Binah, the
Feminine essence, the first Goddess.

It is the Triangle - facing downward to represent Water & Earth, and the
Trinity of the Fall (Adam, Eve and the Serpent; Isis, Osiris and Set/Apophis). Facing upward it represents Fire and Air, The Supernal Triad (Shekinah, Yahweh and the Godhead; Re, Geb & Nut)

Combined, the two triangles form the Hexagram, or Star of David, which
contains the four elements.

Three is the number of the Primal elements - Fire, Water and Air, from which the fourth - Earth - was manifested.

Three represents the Formative, or etheric world wherein lies our higher
selves, the Angels, gods, goddesses and spirits that are named as
individuals.

It is the third letter of the Hebrew Alphabet - Gimel, and it can be divided into any even number.

Remember also the Law of three, which reminds us that whatever we do to
others comes back to us threefold.

In astrology, it represents Gemini, the Twins, the third sign of the Zodiac, and the first Mutable Sign.

When meditating, think of an equilateral triangle, the first Platonic Shape.

It is the first time that the concept of a cycle is expressed - Birth, Life
and Death - returning to Birth again.

Also it represents the three archetypes of Deity: Maiden, Mother, Crone and in the male archetypes Hero, Father, Sage (these may be referred to
differently depending on your tradition, but represent the three ages of man).

In Numerology, Three represents social awareness and creativity. It is the
number of Communicators and Teachers.
