The Spiritual Adventures of BarbieThe Spiritual Adventures of Barbie

Tuesday Morning. What a cool store. Do you have those where you are? They are places that sell stuff that department stores couldn't sell. Like Expensive junk that's now cheap junk, Cripple Barbie and stuff like that.

Speaking of Barbie, I bought R. Wicca Barbie this weekend:

It may not be called that. Secret Spells Kayla, I think. In fact I bought her Kayla and Barbie. They didn't have the brunette one at Super Target. R. doesn't collect barbies, she just wanted these because of their witchiness :>

I was reading the Sepher Yetzirah last night, which is part of the whole Jewish Mysticism thing from a couple of thousand years ago.

Chapter VI Section 1 starts like this:

"Three Fathers and their generations, Seven conquerors and their armies, and Twelve bounds of the Universe. See now, of these words, the faithful witnesses are the Universe, the Year and Man. The dodecad, the heptad, and the triad with their provinces."

This is cool shit. You know why this is cool shit? Go look at the entry I did about the 12-sided Universe that scientists are theorizing now. This is cool shit because what we are discovering today was already known 2000+ years ago (well, in fact, at least 1800 years ago. That's the oldest surviving document we have on the Sepher Yetzirah). Any time that science agrees with what spiritual traditions believe, I find that to be cool shit. It is cool shit because the knowledge must have come from somewhere. From something NOT US. It may have been God, it may have been some being calling themselves a god. It might have come from a dream brought on by eating a dodgy cheese sandwich and sucking down a six pack of Scruttock's Old Dirigible. Nevertheless, it is knowledge beyond what one would normally expect humans back then to have had. Hence, it is cool shit.

What is not cool shit, is that I have a class to teach in 45 minutes, a bunch of prep I need to do, and I haven't started yet. So I better make like the good shepherd and get the flock out of here.

Have a great Tuesday!
