The Moving Axe swings, and having swung, moves on...The Moving Axe swings, and having swung, moves on...

Why do you say "the Bell rang, he has rung the bell", but not "the Axe swang, he has swung the axe?"

Maybe it just never came up in conversation...

At least six people got canned in our office yesterday. Two from our department. And there are more to come. My understanding is that they are going for a 20% reduction over the next coupe of weeks.
I'm partly sad for the ones that are leaving, and partly jealous...
Fortunately, I overcame my negative emotions this morning by indulging in some highly enjoyable sexual athletics with my one true love :>

Now that the election is over with (and it is, ok? I know it sucks, but we need to get over it and go on with our lives), I have to refocus my efforts on some of my studies.

I have a fair few things left to do on Theoricus so I can take the Practicus initiation at Yule.
I have a couple of papers on want to write on the following subjects:
1) Surviving in Church
The truly enlightened can be at home in any religious environment, because of the similarities in imagery that exist. So if, as a Wiccan, you are called upon to attend a Catholic wedding for example, what symbology exists within it that mirrors that of your faith? Examples are the Eucharist, the Virgin Mary, the trinity, the resurrection, confessing your sins etc. What is interesting about this is that when you really dig into it, you find that a lot of catholicism evolved out of ancient pagan rituals...

2) Spiritual Alchemy
This brings into play elements of Alchemy, the Qabbalah, Spiritualism, Eastern and Western Mysticism and various religious traditions. Understanding what it truly means to turn lead into gold, and how that is important to us as individuals as well as a species.

3) What happens when you die
Walking into Summerland; standing before Ma'at while your heart is weighed against a feather; looking nervously over St. Peter's shoulder while he checks to see if your name is in the Book of Life - these are all metaphors and attempts at explaining what is undoubtedly an automatic process. If our brain stores our memories and the brain is made of meat, then when the meat decays, where do our memories go? Where do we go? This is more of a philosophical study than an empirical one...

I also need to continue doing my Third Degree Correllian studies, and I'm waiting for an interview to come back which should vamp up the Site when the film National Treasure comes out.

So that's where things stand this Saturday. Have a buttock wobbling weekend :>
