Rites of PassageRites of Passage 2005-03-22 - 8:10 a.m.
Someone asked this morning "What do you consider significant male rites of passage?" Here are the ones I could think of off the top of my head:
The first 'emanation' when you realized that you had the capacity to create life. The first fight you got into where you fought back, regardless of whether you won or lost. The first time you had to say 'no' to someone you love, even though saying 'yes' would have been easier on you. The first full-time job. The first person who came to you for help in a real-life case of need. The first time you faced your own mortality. The first time a close family member or other loved one died. The first time you questioned the book you were raised believing without question. The first time you apologized because it was the right thing to do, not to get out of retribution. The first time you admitted a mistake publically. The first person you slept with. The first time you felt the Kundalini, or felt enveloped in the arms of Spirit. The first time you saw the Godhead do something cool. The first time your father said "I'm proud of you"
