Now class, before we go any further, there is a book I need you to read. It is called:
Hope for the Flowers by Trina Paulus
Written some time back, its a picture book type story for adults, although to be honest you could read it to kids - the older ones may even get the deeper meaning.
It tells the story of an ordinary, yet curious, Caterpillar, who wants more than to just eat leaves all day, and so embarks on a search for something more.
Finally he finds this huge pillar of caterpillars reaching up to the sky, so high that what is at the top is obscured by cloud, and he starts to climb with them in hope of finding the answer.
He meets a girl caterpillar along the way, falls in love and finds himself making tough choices.
